Polish_LYNX_Fan
wisla play a so so game and lost 3-1 in Madrid. Its ok cause now they should have a real good UEFA cup run. Camacho was really impressed with polish soccer. Also there was about 2000 Wisla Fans in Madrid and they were heard.

amacpher
Groups G and H look to be the toughest. Group D has to be considered the weakest. Arsenal has a virtual bye to the second-round. I can't wait for those Barca x Milan matchups. BTW, they just played last night. 2-1 Barca won.

DJT
So after all those qualification rounds the only interesting thing that happened is that Maccabi Tel-Aviv got into the group stage. Otherwise it's basically status quo. Well, okay, Shelbourne making it past two rounds was interesting.

Not bad for a semi-amateur club. I wouldn't call Maccabi's progression a surprise. Initally, perhaps yes. But after they were drawn to meet PAOK they had to be favoured to go through. I would also say the Red Army x Rangers clash was very interesting. Still not sure what was wrong with Rangers' disallowed goal yesterday!? TimoTas: I totally agree with all your predictions. I also see Juve making an early exit. I'm just not sure about PSV, but on the other hand, I don't know anything about Rosenberg so I can't pick against them either. I can't see Arsenal loosing a game in that group, but the 2nd place is up for grabs.

beachesl
My predictions in bold (I don't think "bolded" is a verb, yet;)) Theme: "The Empires Strike Back" (the Established Teams from the Big Four Countries Regain Dominance, unfortunately) Group A "Group of Blue and Red Underdogs" Deportivo Coruna (Spain) 1. Liverpool (England) 2. Monaco (France) had a good run last year Olympiakos (Greece) (weak group: one gets eliminated in next round, the other in the semis) Group B "Group of Galacticos, one Faded Lady and Two Chokers" Real Madrid (Spain) 1. AS Roma (Italy) 2. .....just barely Bayer Leverkusen (Germany) Dynamo Kiev (Ukraine) Group C "Group of One Scary Trip to Hell" Bayern Munich (Germany) 2. (God, I'd love to see the Whore's team lose to Ajax, but a little reality is needed) Juventus (Italy) 1. (The Old lady Comes Back) Ajax Amsterdam (Netherlands) Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel) (the year of established teams bite back, but these guys going out in elimnation rounds) Group D "The Group of Hooligans" Manchester United (England) 1. Olympique Lyon (France) 2. Sparta Prague (Czech Republic) Fenerbahce (Turkey) (at least one supporter, somewhere, will be stabbed to death) Group E "The Group of Arse gets Lucky" Arsenal (England) 1. Panathinaikos (Greece) 2. PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) Rosenborg Trondheim (Norway) Group F "Groups of Colour Clash" Barcelona (Spain) 2. AC Milan (Italy) 1. Celtic (Scotland) (will put up noble fight, but hooped in December) Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine) Group G "Group of Death and Greasy Food" Valencia (Spain) Inter Milan (Italy) 1. (mini-revival) Anderlecht (Belgium) Werder Bremen (Germany) 2. I'm a Valencia fan, but this is Werder's destiny year) Group H "Group of Ingrown Connections" Porto (Portugal) 2. Chelsea (England) 1. Paris St Germain (France) CSKA Moscow (Russia) (as the Kenyon said, all they needed was Ranieri's Valncia to make the circle complete) Disclaimer: I am NOT a Euro-snob, I'd rather see the Canada U-17's play in St. John's or Saint John! Predictions: 1. An English team will win this year, but I would rather they not, against Real Madrid in the final, on penalty kicks, Beckham will hook another over the crossbar and lose the big one for his team. 2. After the opening round of the eliminations, all 8 remaining teams will be from England/Germany/Spain/Italy. 3. Stalieri Will Win Cucumber For "Best Canadian Performance in The Champion's League, Ever"

Yes, I agree, I just meant, in terms of the collection of teams in the group phase, we have the same suspects as usual, except for Maccabi's presence as they've never been here before. But I forgot about CSKA Moscow, same goes for them. And you can throw in Bremen, though originally I was only thinking of the teams that had to go through the qualifiers... but, okay, 3 "new" teams in the group stage.
