shaku_bert
Paul Sturrock of Southampton of the EPL has been fired or has left the club via "mutual consent" as per the official party line. As per the following link, he plans to come to Canada. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/tm_objectid=14568041%26method=full%26siteid=89488%26headline=football%2d%2dluggy%2dwas%2ddressed%2dout-name_page.html Canada sucked in a huge way last game and Yallop's tactics and squad selection have come into question. Could Sturrock's leaving Southampton, Sturrock's visit to Canada, and Yallop's tenuous position as national coach be related? You bet! Sturrock is known for his employment of "hoof and hope" tactics, so what would be better that having him take over our national team? Ahhh, I can see it now! JDV lumping the ball up the pitch for the Rat to make speculative runs! [8D][8D]
Jarrek
quote:Sturrock is going on holiday before considering his next move. He said: 'I'll unwind over the next few days and then have a couple of weeks in Canada. I think he's just going on vacation
soccerbeast
If only it were true, whe would have a decent manager and maybe a chance to save this dream turned nightmare we call Germany 2006.

Yes, but he is known for dreadful fashion sense (did you see him on Saturday v. Blackburn? He was wearing a SHORT SLEEVED DRESS SHIRT! How Al Bundy is that?! Still, the coincidence of these things happening all at the same time is spooky! Plus he has strong connections to Canada as proved by him signing Jason Bent while he was at Plymouth!!! According to SoccerBeast, this would be a good move. And we all know that SoccerBeast KNOWS soccer.
The Ref
The CSA doesn't have the balls to replace Yallop on midstream.
Rafa the Gaffer
Paul Sturrock spends a lot of time in Canada on the West Coast. He likes the place. He's going on vacation. His record at Plymouth would suggest he is a quality coach. He was well liked by everyone in that organisation and they were sorry to see him leave. Yallop deserves a chance to succeed, as did Paul Sturrock at Southamption. I imagine the CSA have a bit more class than the crank who runs Southampton so the position won't be open anytime soon. However, his experience would be an asset to the national side in some capacity.

Marc
The Paul Sturrock moving to Canada rumour isn't new, actually it dates back from his days at St Johnstone. I think he has fmaily here, or had a kid who played out in Vancouver or something.
