Luis_Rancagua
I couldn't believe my thoughts that yesterday's game at Swangard Stadium demonstrated the bullying tactics of the RCMP who were trying to get the fans to SIT DOWN. It is hard for me to believe this story, unless Krammerhead is bull-****ting. I told my 70-year dad all about this that he has decided to forward a letter to his MP. He's also requesting that Kevan Pipe explain himself as to why fans were provoked. This is one blunder from Kevan Pipe and Andy Sharpe. My father despises these 2 guys passionately. He even wants Pipe to resign ASAP. Pipe has done more damage to the sport than good. For this reason my father refuses to watch Canadian National games on the TV. Look at all the broken promises that Pipe has made during the last 5 years: CUSL, Open-Cup, etc... We should make this bastard accountable. CanadasBest
Yup true story. The best part is that there was no one sitting behind us, we had the seats right up to the 5th and last row. I think it was some FIFA official who was the first to come over and harass us if i'm not mistaken. Then Security... Then the RCMP. They finally got the hint when we all started doing the wave. That was a riot. Someone needs to bring a camcorder to the Edmonton game. I expect there will be more security for the October game. To defend the RCMP they did a great job in handling the situation. It never did get out of control and at a few moments certainly could have resulted in a major brawl between us and the Guat fans. I'm willing to bet we would have had a different outcome yesterday had the game been attended by Vancouver City Police.
kokanne
It was the same story across the field in Section E, Row 8 seats 30,29,28 which for people who are familiar with swanguard are right in front of the E entrance which have nobody behind them as well. They allowed Guatemalan fans to stand and chant and wave there flags and generally block peoples view behind them but refuse to allow us to stand, everytime I stood up to cheer or try and start a Go Canada Go Chant, 2 security and sometimes an RCMP officer were right there behind me practically forcing me into my seat. Mean while right standing on the stairs there is a Guat fan jumping up and down the whole game waving his flag dancing around, I even tried to ask why they allow him to jump and do what we are not and they said that If kept hassling them that I would be removed. This image show exactly where I was and if you look close it seems that it one of the times security is harrasing me.
Luis_Rancagua
Guys, we shouldn't put up with this (s)hit. We should make Kevan Pipe and Andy Sharpe accountable for this blunder. Trust me, my dad is going to make these 2 (s)hit heads pay very dearly. These 2 mother (f)uckers should come-out clean with us, and tell us why this type of extreme force was used on the fans. Canada should wake-up and force Pipe to quit or resign. Than again one needs to look at all the screw-ups that Pipe has made throughout the years to know that this guy is not fit to command the CSA. Soju
I think it's safe to say that the people on this board represent most of Canada's devoted fans, the people who drag their friends and families to the games. The fans here are the ones who organize the tail gates, wind up crowds, and buy merchandise. That being said there must be a way to get enough signatures together to make heads roll in the CSA. Someone more informed than me please point us in the right direction, I hear alot of people on this board saying it's time for a change, there must be something we can do someone we can convince to shake things up inside the organization, because that's where we are accountable for loss after loss. This is the world's game, and the way we're playing it, promoting it, and treating it, reflects poorly on us as a sporting country. Let's not waste anymore time. Some Guatemalan fans were allowed to come by and taunt our section (M), but the RCMP and security were there for us instead. Imagine a Canadian fan being held in an arm-lock! The RCMP was telling us to sit down -- imagine that in a soccer game! Even the Gillette stadium brownshirts at Foxboro didn't even do that. And Krammer and a few other have photos. It was embarassing for me and the people around me. I flew in from Winnipeg, Gordon from Saskatoon, and my brother from Montreal, and to be subjected to this. A disappointing event that tried to distract from a very disappointing game.

Footy
For international events we always had a problem "organization" of Canadian fans and it could of been the same problem if not for Voyaguer VancouverFan he organized a group of tickets for around 80 fans which you all know about but the key here is that all who sat in Section M were united NO ONE not even the RCMP, FIFA or SECURITY could force our RED & WHITE Assess down ! we got back up we did the wave and the Police moved on ! We need this type of seating for all the true Canadian supporters so that we dont have folks in the grandstand who are out numbered by the Guats or have them dictate to us. So fans who plan to attend the next Swangard match against Costa Rica get your tickets through VancouverFan lets sit as group again ... but a even larger group ! DarnCherry
quote:No Luis, Krammer wasn't BS-ing quote: And Krammer and a few other have photos. The important thing to note about the photos I posted is that I never changed any of the file names and they are all posted in the sequence that I took them in. It shows the cops and security constantly coming over to our section in between shots of the game. It's not like I took a whole bunch of photos of one police incident and then interspread them throughout the photos to make it look like a lot of incidents. Unfortunately I filled the card in my camera approximately 10 minutes before all hell broke loose and they started to really rough up Johnniemonster for "his own protection". Otherwise we'd have some really good photos to show. Onet thing for sure is that for the next game here the CSA and everybody involved organizing the event has to make sure that the away support sits in their seats and don't migrate over to the better seats. Thats why I stopped attending internationals at Swangard back in the late 80's/early 90's and they still haven't learned to control it in 2004. For those who didn't see the link in the other thread here's the photo's I took (bottom of the page). http://community.webshots.com/user/krammerhead

Former Champ
Thanks for the shot of me and the cop, Krammer. That was hella lame and hella stupid. Maybe it's because I grew up in the woods, or had a cop for a Dad, but I only respect authority figures if they deserve my respect, so that led to me spending my last $20 on 4 halftime beers (taking days total to around 16), then I remember a lot of ugliness. I'm glad I didn't flip out of no reason. (Sorry if I offended anyone... well, not really) Please send me any pics of me wrestling cops and Johnny Monster. I'm gonna get some sleep (15 hours on the bus), then I'll tell you the rest of my story.
canuck-fan
I was in section K, just down from the Voyageurs/Southsiders section, and even there it was chaos. A goodly sized contingent of Guatemalan supporters decided to congregate there, despite their tickets being from elsewhere. It took a number of complaints to security from those who had been displaced before anything was done, and even then most of the Guatemalans were allowed to stay. They were jumping up and down and waving flags but when a group of us decided to retailiate by screaming "Canada" en masse whenever they began singing (not very artistic, I agree, but we had no Johnniemonster to lead chants),the stadium nazis came over to sit down and shut up. We did give a good cheer for the few Canadians that were dragged out (presumably Current Champ et al) Most disappointing from security, though we had no problems in our section with the RCMP. Former Champ
No **** everybody... but I was never actually escorted anywhere. It was like getting kicked out of Stampede Wrestling. DoyleG
Shouldn't have trouble getting the media getting on your side with the pictures and an explination of what happened from your POV. Naming Const. Knight wouldn't hurt either.
marcl_19
In enlgand the fans can cause an uproar or an anti-FA sort of thing, why dont we do it? Its kind of hard since everyone lives all over the place, but if there was like a couple demostrations against Pipe and sharpe im sure we could get some (albeit probably minor) media attention. IOf we keep at that and then send emails (lots) to the csa and to petitions and such like that, im sure we could do somthing.....it wont be easy but the csa needs a change and the voyageurs are the loudest voice canadian soccer has.
