Tonight we looked nervous, unsure. We looked disjointed, we looked like we hadn't play together in a while. - Frank Yallop

We couldn't get the ball and keep control of the ball. They're very quick and they put us under a lot of pressure. - midfielder Josh Simpson

Canada missed their striker. Guatemala's striker didn't miss until it was long over.

The Canadian national men's soccer team looked lost and listless

Or lack of player selection in the case of Brennan and Nsaliwa. Unfortunately I will be driving through the mountains at the appointed time, not a good time to get excited on your cell. Hope to hear some good questions when I get back a week from now.

I'm in!! Must have been their technical problem. I am planning to ask about Brennan, Jet lag and "home field" advantage if they don't cut me off. Let's get our shots in while we can. Don't count on Dobson and Frank's buddy Craig to ask the hard questions.

BTW, Nazz, I love how CChamp remarked in complete surprise how one of us (namely you, chief) actually had a gfriend and a car. A real-life Voyageur success story. Too funny!

Yeah,he even described me as being articulate and well kept.He should of seen me the next day when I refused to shave, shower and babbled like an idiot who had just witnessed the shock of his life.Anymore results like last Wednesday and they're gonna have to put me away.

Thanks Nolando!

I disagree about not playing Brennan, and choosing Simpson over him. Something is wrong with the rational if your choosing Watson for experience and your choosing Simpson for playing strong yet has little experience in comparison to Brennan. Too bad you couldn't ask about Nsaliwa.

well done nolando. the brennan rationale sounds dubious.

slightly off topic, ipswich town say their bone scans of JDV's leg show no fracture and don't know what the CSA docs are talking about. apparently had one of his best games in an ITFC shirt so far too...now that stings!

Didn't it NOT show up on one scan so they had to do a more in-depth on (in Vancouver)?

Now WHY the hell does he prefer Vancouver to another venue, by far?

from an independent supporters site:

http://ipswichtown.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=911&p=2&stid=8357086

Jason De Vos played despite being sent back from international duty by Canada after a scan revealed a hairline fracture. However, Royle says Town's own scans have failed to show the injury: "We cannot see the stress fracture that the Canadian FA can see, but there is deep bone bruising.

"Jason was terrific. He won't be risked on Tuesday [brentford in the Carling Cup] but we can't rest too many because we have not got that many players."

at least they're resting him midweek...gives us a better shot at having him in edmonton

bloody he**. Some overzealous Canadian radiologist imagined he saw a fracture, thereby (most likely) effectively eliminating Canada from the WC.

Now with so many immigrant doctors, watch and see if the "Canadian doc" who made the diagnosis wasn't originally from Guate. That would just tear it.

Paranoid? Who me? Nah, just comes with the territory if you follow Canadian soccer for any length of time.

How was it expressed about the venue? I stopped listening as soon as he discounted Nolando's show of displeasure for Swangard for the last game. Nolando worded it perfectly by stating that he lives in the area, would love to watch the Nats play regularly but just couldn't understand under the circumstances with long flights and the fact that Guats were a huge presence why this venue was preferable, and asked if Yallop still believes it so. I don't ermember what Yallop said or why I tuned him out. I have no problem with Swangard being one of many venues. I have a problem with Yallops obvious skirting of what is obvious. Vancouver is no more a perfect location then any other in Canada for the National Team.
