Bad News For Tonights Game

Recommended Posts

This is not looking good.

I'm in Vancouver and I just came in from a jog before checking out the game. It is less than 1 hour until kickoff. I felt very strong for the start of my jog and then the heat sapped me. I could only jog about 1/3 the distance I normally do. The last thing I would want to do is chase a ball around. The weather says it is 28'C. It feels worse. I hope it really cools off. This weather really suits our opponents. I know that at this time of year you are going to get these temps across Canada, but I really hope that the CSA looks at putting games in Winnipeg, Regina, Ottawa, anywhere for that matter so we really have "home field" in the future.

I would hate for Vancouver to lose games but if attendance is low and the stadium is full of Guatemalans, and the temperatures are high, what's the point?

Let's put the games in the best location so we win. Play the U.S.A. in Vancouver it evens out, play Mexico, Costa Rica et al in the East during the winter. You know we are going to be playing our away games in a jungle not in "our" conditions.

I get bad vibes, but hopefully the visitors were spending the day enjoying this beautiful city and slowly losing their legs. If they have a bad result tonight I hope everyone does not give up on our guys, it will be because of a poor choice of location and uncontrollable timing as far as the weather. Let's learn a lesson here. That said Canada pulls out a 3-1 win on guts alone.

Ya ok. I am simply trying to inform. I can't believe that statement "The weather doesn't mean anything". Tell that to all the teams that crashed out of W.C 2002 and some in Euro 2004 because of conditions. You're right. It doesn't mean anything TO YOU watching the game on the couch. Watch the amount of sweat on our guys' shirts tonight. Don't give me any of the "It's the same for both teams garbage arguments either". Let's play the games in a sauna then. Oh yeah we are - I'm heading there now.

The average temp for Regina this day historically is 26, and I can't imagine Winnipeg being much lower than that. You're gonna get temperatures like that anywhere this time of year, unless you're planning on going to Iquluit chances are you're gonna hit 20+ weather no matter where you go this time of year.

Now, Regina in February, thats another story.
