Canuck Oranje
Traditionally I am a Feyenoord fan but they haven't been much lately and now with PSV being coached again by a Homeboy (Hiddink) from my mother's little Dutch village, there are some conflicting loyalties. FC Zwolle is another club in the Netherlands I follow. In Germany, I like the combination of being somewhat of an underdog and having a Canadian in Hannover 96. Of course, I will follow other teams in Germany with Canadians. In England, I have casually followed Ipswitch for about 20 years. The fact that DeVos is there now raises my interest in them again. Don't really have an EPL favourite so I will follow the teams with Canadians on them. Of course I will be following the progress of Canadians in England, Scotland and thoughout the rest of Europe. In addition, I have developed a taste for domestic Brazilian league soccer over the past year because of my business dealings and consequent travels there. Through the close friendships that I have developed, Sao Paulo FC has become the club that follow closest. Hey, what can I say when the club invites me and some Brazilian friends for an unplanned walk out at field level in Morumbi Stadium? You gotta love a club so hospitable. Never even did that at Varsity Stadium. Then there is Athletico Sorocaba. It is a small club from a city where I have some business dealings. They had made a little noise in the Sao Paulo State Championship in January. Currently, they are way down in the third level of the Brazilian Championship but I still check them out from time to time and who knows?
