canadiankick97
Celtic will destroy Roma tomorrow at the Dome. I've seen them play (Roma) some preseason games in Germany (on TV) and they sucked hard with half of their starters on the field.

JayWay
What's with the Soccer USA ad boards? As if foreign reports calling this a "United States tour" wasn't bad enough, it seems we're starting to believe them!

RS
quote:Originally posted by SABuffalo786 Wow, the Skydome is deafaning. On TV!!!! Yesterday's game was even louder, despite 10,000 less fans in attendance. The dome was closed, and the sound just bounces arounnd there like crazy. In today's match the dome was open, but still a great atmosphere. quote: It's where the bread is, baby!!! Well, if attendance at these two matches are any indication, Toronto is where some of the bread is. They'll be back next year. And the CSA really should have have at least one friggin signboard out there, especially given the US Soccer board that has no reason being there (this match has nothing to do with the US, nor is it being played in the US). One of the conditions for sanctioning these matches should have been that the CSA gets a signboard (preferably in place of the US Soccer one). sstackho
The announcers mentioned that the CSA get some of the proceeds of ticket sales. I believe they said 7.5%. If that's accurate, then 90,000 at about $60/ticket * 7.5% equals a cool $400,000 - for doing absolutely nothing!

bettermirror
hey, if this 400 000 means we get an extra MNT friendly per year - in canada? (i kid, i kid!) then by all means bring CWS to toronto!

DJT
It would be nice to know where that $400,000 will go. The CSA has received some unexpected money over recent years (Gold Cup, Confederations Cup). Has it all gone towards more camps and youth development? Who knows what happens to the money. Orange3man
quote:Originally posted by G-Man The reason these crap pre season games are played here, is MONEY. Back home they'd draw flies and those with no lives. How many Canadians would pay 100 bucks to watch a pre season NHL game for a hundred bucks??????????????????????? it's actually a pretty bad example.... we can't watch two euro club teams play against each other every year....
