Oliver Occean scores Odd Grenland's second in the 36th minute, to give Odd a 2-0 lead over Ham-Kam in the Norwegian Premier.

Reda on the bench for Sogndal.

Frank needs to have another look at Occean, whether it's in a friendly over the summer or in Iain Hume's spot at the Aug. 18 WCQ versus Guatemala.

He's just been way too consistant with Odd to not warrant another call-up soon.

Also, I'm not sure if Colorado and New England would mind giving up Cann and Brillant for the 'B' friendlies, but I don't think there would be any harm in checking out these two guys as well.

Has Marco Reda lost his starting role with Sogndal??? He has now been warming the bench for the last 4 games. What's going on here???

Odd Grenland vault into a 4-way tie for second place after todays 4-2 victory.

OO plays 80 minutes, scoring his sixth of the season. 'Otto' is currently the fourth (tied) leading scorer in the league, with the leader having 9.

I'm in full agreement with Rudi. OO has been fantastic on a consistent level, and should be on Canada's roster vs Guatemala. He will also be in mid season form, unlike the majority of the team.

In the First Division, both Moss and Haugesund lose. No Canuck goals.

Guest Jeffery S.

Brillant's goal was not the game winner, Dempsey scored for NEngland and then the MetroStars got a supposedly dubious penalty call m. 90, 2-1 Revs. Everyone says it was a miracle Felix did not go down on the play and look for a penalty call, but stayed up and scored.

In Norway also should mention Occean had a great chance to put one in before his goal. What is especially impressive is that he could always have had some luck not being known or marked at the start of the season, but now he is known and is still able to score, all the more impressive.

Re Reda, this is the first time dressed for him in probably two months, not sure really but think he was subbed out first half of a match and hasn't been back since. And their win over the league leader Tromso, 2-1, also helps them get above relegation and have a realistic chance to hold on to the category. Good for Reda.

Bernier subbed out for Friend at Moss with some 20 plus minutes left as they lost at home. Also should mention Milan Kojic played the whole match for Haugesund in their terrible loss.

Some swedish weekend stuff:

Landskrona BoIS youth team defeated Halmstad 3-0 at home last thursday, Matondo scored once. He is also a starter with the reserves as they play IFK Göteborg away today. Looks like they're playing him as a winger. Also on the line-up for the match is Aguiar, his first match for Landskrona. He is not eligeble for first team play until after July 1, thus this hopefully one-off with the reserves.

Stephen Ademolu will arrive to Trelleborg today and might play with the reserves against Malmö FF tonight. Premier division will kick off again July 7-8.

Kenny Stamatopoulos is not on the line-up for Enköping in today's match against Brommapojkarna. The club haven't given any reason, but I think they would have said something if he was injured. Kenny's contract will finish in a couple of days and there is a rumour that the negotiations for a renewal isn't going that well.

Dandal, please keep us posted with the latest up-to-the minute news on Kenny Stamatopoulos' contract. Do you know why his contract negotiation is going so terribly bad???

Late night update:

Landskrona reserves played 1-1, Matondo did a nice assist when he turned his defender and delivered a cross to the striker inside the box. Though not in his best form yet, Aguiar dominated midfield. The reserves still undefeated in their league.

Enköping without Stamatopoulos lost 2-1 away. I'd like to stress that anything concerning Kenny's contract is pure speculation, but that said; Kenny signed with a premier division side a year ago, today it is a 1st division club with incomes of a such. Their finances are not the best - following the swedish FA's audit of the club earlier this year, they were basicly told they had three months to get their economy together or be relegated. It seems like the city council will step in and save them, but they most probably can't pay Kenny what he gets now. If there is a problem with the contract, this is probably the reason.
