Guest Jeffery S.
With that third goal in I am feeling more relieved and wondering about the next match in Kingston. They are officially playing at home. That should mean they can play with their home uniforms and we with our away. It should also mean the coin toss respects this fact. And what is even more interesting, if we win we should get the according away win FIFA points for their ranking system. Which is why trying to put as much as possible in might just help our battered FIFA ranking, as they count all the more.
marcl_19
I was thinking about the same thing actually, so if (somehow) there's a tie after the 2 games.........do our goals next week count as away goals?

I am quite sure that in fact our goals in the next match would count as away goals. And if that they insisted we'd have to play in Kingston in our away uniform. Though their economy being what it is I imagine they came with only one strip and will be at a nearby Kingston dry cleaner, courtesy Scotia Bank Belize, tomorrow. Also wonder if we'll get a different ref for the next one, we really should I think.
Guest Jeffery S.
If it is true that the US could only beat Granada 3-0, that means our win is the biggest in this round of qualifying. Or did I miss one?

DJT
We played with our away whites today. And, I don't know if Belize have brought two uniforms or not, but I was surprised to see that despite their financial situation they had their names on their backs while we did not. There are on 164,000 in St Lucia and their national sport is cricket, so I don't think their level of talent in soccer is very high.
LordSun
Actually, St. Lucia's national federation was in a state of transition heading into the match against Panama, which adversely affected the national team's preparations to a significant extent. The only substantial engagement for St Lucia in the two months or so ahead of the WCQ tie was against Grenada. The team was woefully underprepared, and it told in the scoreline. As for the level of St. Lucian football, keep in mind that Les Ferdinand and Jermain Defoe, as well as Rio Ferdinand, were all eligible to play for St Lucia at some stage in their careers. Rio and Les' cousin Edwin did in fact play for St Lucia, and I'm sure there are players in Canada eligible to join the St Lucia team. If you know any, by the way, do email me!
