two-sheds
Hi all, I just found this forum by accident whilst looking for something else. Anyway I've just moved to Toronto from Europe with work and I've been looking around for any social teams to play football with? Everything I tend to get out of searches seems to be kids soccer and I'm a little too old to sneak into playing with kids. I'd just like to get out and play football regularly again (preferably outdoor 11 a-side, but indoor will do). Since this is a forum discussing soccer in canada I'm hoping that some of you out there still play. cheers for any help.
Metro
If you live in East Toronto (or don't mind driving there), check out these two adult recreational leagues at their respective websites: www.jnlsoccer.com www.stmikesoccer.com The season has already started in both leagues but there still might be spots available. Contact the organizers and they'll be more than happy to help you.
two-sheds
cheers Metro, I've managed to get myself onto a team in the j$l soccer league. Lets hope I can still run around for 90 minutes or so...
Metro
LOL, don't worry about having to run around for 90 minutes...not many of us can. That's why the substitution rule is (very) relaxed.
Polish_LYNX_Fan
you should come out and cheer for the TORONTO LYNX with us
two-sheds
Do you play with J&L then Metro? I've been thinking of heading over to see the Lynx play, I haven't seen aly live football since Christmas time. I'm just a bit dissapointed that I'm going to be away at a friends wedding when the team I support and my old Home town team Liverpool will be playing on my doorstep at the Skydome. I wrote to both and I've just started going mountain biking on sunday mornings so Saturdays suited me better, plus not having a car and living in downtown Toronto one of the guys on the team has offered to give me a lift which is handy. So which team in J&L do you play for? top or bottom of the table after 3 games then or just somewhere in the middle?

two-sheds
I enjoyed playing again anyway. It would have helped if 11 people had turned up from the start. Chatting to some of the team before/after the game it seems that team I'm in are all individuals - i.e. everyone joined on thier own and didn't know anyone else before hand. Hopefully we'll get a bit more organised over the coming weeks and I'll lose some of my excess weight which is obviously stopping me from being better than Zidane
