onenil
Just curious, we plan to head into Kingston on Saturday afternoon. Are there any parties or events happening Saturday as a wind-up to Sunday's opener? Also, where would be the best place in Kingston to watch England-France on Sunday morning? Thanks. Jarrek
Let's orginize something for the big event. How about meeting at a parking lot just before the game and having a march on the stadium (for all those sitting in the GA section)

Varsity Tyler
3:30 sounds about right. I want to be in the stadium no later than 4:00 pm to secure our place in the stand. we need to be down near the bottom of the section and close to the pitch. there we should be able to have spots to hang banners/flags, and we'll make it on TV quite a bit. http://www.thetoucan.ca/ <<<< it looks like some of the Vees are going to be calling this pub home for the stay in Kingston. I plan on leaving Toronto at about 10:00 am, arriving at 1:00 and then having lunch/watching euro until 3:00 or so.

SeanKeay
So, ummm is this just gonna be an Ultras on tour group? or is there going to be a massive ammount of voyaguers coming to this game?
Alex Bunbury
What's with these lame requests for tickets? Put the money down and support Holger's Heroes....err...Yallop's Yahoos! I mean if you can afford to make the trip to K-town, you can afford the ticket. Anyways, I think there is going to be a good vibe in K-town. If folks are going to come in on Saturday night, perhaps we could coordinate to have a few beverages at a pub to talk about the WCQ games, Euro 2004, and the Magical Jimmy Brennan! Mimglow
Hey everyone! Me and my "posse" (about 7 or 8 of us) will be heading down to K-town on Saturday night, leaving Ottawa after the last Euro game of the day (about 5pm). We should be in Kingston at about 7:30. We are planning on going to the Toucan as Tyler said, and chilling there until the wee hours. On Sunday, we plan on watching the Euro games until about 3:30, when will head to the stadium. Don't know if we'll be at the toucan, or if we find a place closer to Richardson.
Jarrek
I suggest meeting an HOUR before the game. So let's all meet at 3:00pm just so we can all can get to know each other. Does anyone know the area well enough to know which part of the west campus would be most suitable for a gathering of 30+ people ?
Gian-Luca
See where the #96 is? That isn't a good place to meet - but I used to live on the 2nd floor of the most northern building (Trotter House) and could easily look onto the field from there. The Canadian National team aren't the only ones coming home! There is not really a good place to meet on campus, other than outside the stadium itself. It's If you want a drink I know of a pub just to the south west at Portsmouth Harbour (the harbour which is next door on the west side of the Men's Prison, which is two buildings south of the West Campus - the building immediately south of the west campus is the Woman's Prison). It's about a 10 minute walk from the West Campus) called the Portsmouth Tavern. At least, it was there back in 1998. I haven't been in the area since then, and that was 6 years ago now. Jarrek
Well there surely must be something in the area? How about at the Parking lot just east of the tennis courts?
SeanKeay
I Think an early meeting time would be great, because we do not want anyone taking the front rows away from us.
Varsity Tyler
Second a request for one more ticket. If there are any extras out there I could really use one. If there are enough last minute requests I'll put in a quick order.

That's basically at the stadium itself, which is what I was mentioning earlier. There's plenty of place to stand around & talk just outside the stadium. If you want to sit, have a drink and boo Hargreaves on TV you'd have to go to a pub, and I believe the one I mentioned is the nearest (or was 6 years ago, things may have changed). I also agree about the early meeting in principle, to stake out our seats ahead of time & lay claim to them. We should really be taking a roll call to figure out how many of us are going, how large of an area to stake out in the seats, etc. and just for general knowledge. Alex Bunbury
An hour before kick-off seems brief, no? If you're going to tailgate, you gotta tailgate. Why not like at 12 noon? Then we could light up the BBQ, kick the ball around, and maybe even greet the team when they arrive at the Stadium.

Jarrek
The only thing is that people will still be arriving from other parts of the country. But I like that idea. The only question is if tailgating is allowed at Richardson. I'd be up for the 12:00 pm start.

SeanKeay
See, the problem with a 12:00 tailgate party is that France Vs England is on at that time i believe. So some might wanna catch that at a bar b4 the game. But im always up for tailgates

You could drive up in the morning, tailgate party for a bit, watch Euro2004 & then go to the stadium really tired in time for the Canada match.
