Rocket Robin
South Jersey won 2-1 in the second period of overtime at The Soccer Centre in Vaughan. It was the first time the Banshees broke out of their side of the half in the 2nd overtime period but the shot was from about 15 yards on the right side. No scoring in the second half when I arrived after getting here after the Lynx game. Inferno opened the scoring in the 1st half on a set piece and Banshees scored on a weak goal that rolled in from what I heard. The 2nd half and 1st overtime featured lots of end to end action but mostly two vs five rushes by both teams. Inferno had only one substitute on the bench because of injuries. The team will just wait for their players to heal instead of calling in replacements.
TorontoInferno
It was a tough game, at times the Inferno dominated, at other times they looked shaky....The Banshee goal was an easy one admittedly, almost right after the restart, not the way you want to get back into the game.. The overtime period was onesided until the goal, the Inferno had 90% of the chances including a free kick outside the 18 and missed. The goal was depressing and so was the result, but with a young team, things like this happen. Regarding subs, its true, they are missing some players, some are injured, like Mel Booth (who would have made a HUGE difference) not to mention Lisa Collison (@ U19s), Sandi Potis, Larissa Gorijko, Jennifer Doyle (injured). Unfortunately you can't just call up reserves from the minors, they have to be signed & registered players, and sometimes your shorthanded. Not the ultimate situation, but one that unfortunatly is occuring. Overall a tough result, one that will have to be overcome with a good roadtrip next weekend. I may be travelling with the team that weekend so i will be able to give a mini roadtrip report when i get back..
soccerottawa
This seems to be a trend with all he Toronto-basd soccer teams. Getting scored on after restarts or early in the game (in both halves). For the Lynx however, it seems to have become an epidemic that hasn't been "contained" to say the least. I do hope both teams will get their act together sooner that later, especially the Lynx.
