Blue and White Army
The past couple of years Sportsnet carried the Div1 play-offs. Unfortunately they're now on Bell ExpressVu pay-per-view for $15.99. Your best bet is like Dover Arms on Denman... ring them up and see if they'll show it: http://emenus.ca/doverarms/
sstackho
hammersfan, As a Palace supporter, THANK YOU!! Brian Deane is our hero. We figured you guys had given up. (The rest of the board here will be pissed though - Wigan's captain is Canada's captain) re: the playoffs on TV, they are on PPV or also via Setanta, which some pubs have. Go to http://linux967.dn.net/setanta/jsp/NA_venues.jsp and see what comes up. Blue/White: Didn't Sportsnet only show the final (and not the semifinals) in past years? Any idea if this will also be the case this year?

sstackho
Doh, Viewer's Choice also has the playoff finals listed on their website (for $20), so I suppose that means that Sportsnet won't be showing the finals again this year. Grrr...
Blue and White Army
Sportsnet has carried both legs of both semis, plus for finals, for a total of five matches. This year they have none. I guess they'd prefer the glory of the FA Cup and all the associated Manchester United fans (aka "wankers").[}]

If I recall, in past years most of the games were on the weekend (ie. the normal timeslot for soccer on Sportsnet). This season none of the games are in a timeslot where sportsnet would normally show soccer. Even the final is on a Friday!
sstackho
I don't recall the timing of past semis, but they certainly are spaced out this year. There is one match on each of Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. But the finals for Division One is Saturday, 29 May 2004.

What am I smoking? ... and now that I check, last year the semifinals first-leg were both on a Saturday. Second-legs were Wednesday, Thursday. The final was on a Monday! Guess Sportsnet just got outbid!
sstackho
Hmmm, it does seem that the finals have been bouncing around... Last year the Monday, two years ago a Sunday, and this time a Saturday!
sstackho
Well, I took this afternoon off work to watch the second leg of Palace - Sunderland on PPV at a friend's place. Holding on to a slim one-goal lead into the away leg. COME ON YOU EAGLES!!
sstackho
It's been almost a week since the second leg, and the thrill has barely died down. The second leg, and the shootout, was one of the most dramatic matches I have ever experienced in my life. I was emotionally and physically drained after that match. And now the finals are against West Ham on Saturday. The most valuable single match that there is, as far as I know of. Very proud of the boys, and so looking forward to the finals, albeit with bated breath.
