Cooks
Both games start on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 MST. The soccer gods don't like this town. The Mustangs' management tried to have the hockey game shown on the Jumbotron, but CBC shot down the idea for some reason. The Supporters Club is desperately scrambling for ways to get Flames-crazy soccer fans to still come to the Mustangs' match (it may involve a bunch of little TV's, but we'll get it done, somehow). Needless to say, out attendance numbers are going to take a hit because of this. Keep that in mind before you make any comments about numbers. Cheers. Luis_Rancagua
Is there anyway to get around the CBC ruling. This will be a miss opportunity for the Mustangs. Trust me, it will be. If you managed to put the game on the Jumbotron you will managed to get about over 10-thousand people to the Mustangs' game. This has been done before during the 1994 World Cup final (Brazil Vs. Italy). On that day, about over 10 thousand people watched the final through the Jumbotron at the Skydome. Fcuk the CBC. Let's do it anyhow. Cheeta
Ohhhh, Cooks. You're gonna be one lonely camper. Just for fun, bring the digital out to the match and get a grandstand shot on the web. Something about lemons and lemonade, you know? Come to think of it now, what time's faceoff????

DoyleG
CBC is more concerned about it's raitings for the match.
Daniel
RDS.ca: Stampeders open their stadium and the game will be shown on the jumbotron... Guess the Stangs caught a break and it'll help their average... However, admission is free. Hmmmmmm [?]
Cooks
That's for the following weekend, I believe. I just got word from the Mustangs that they CAN now show the game on the JUMBOTRON this Sunday. That helps!
Daniel
No, that's definitely this weekend (as written, it might have been improperly translated). It talks about the Flames being in San Jose, which would be this Sunday, although they ARE in Calgary next Sunday. We need a first-hand source. Daniel
According to the official website, the Mustangs have sold 1,000 season tickets. I don't know if these are the "association passes" or bona-fide season tickets but it'd be great if it were the latter. For comparison's sake, the Impact only had around 1,250 season tickets in 2003 (they don't offer bleacher ST's, though).
DarnCherry
Probably not bonafide season tickets, more like passes. Most A-League teams don't have a thousand season ticket holders.

Guest Ed
quote:Originally posted by Krammerhead Probably not bonafide season tickets, more like passes. Most A-League teams don't have a thousand season ticket holders. Well call they what you like, they are sold, not freebies, and people use them to get into games over the season. And they've sold at least 1001 as of Wednesday. They have some aggressive selling going on but without much internet presence so you likely missed it. There are no 'association passes', just a reduced price for season's tickets for those associated with minor soccer.
Jeremy Loome
My source is second hand, but I'm told Edmonton has already topped 3,000 and has thousands left from their "will you buy one" tout list from last year that they haven't even contacted yet. Does that give us the best season ticket base? I'm sure Rochester must top that.

He won't be alone, but it will be lonely as Stu, I and hopefully a few other hardy souls will show up. Forecast for the day is for a high of 4 with rain and snow.
