Winnipeg Fury
As of last week, the Vancouver Whitecaps had already sold over 4,200 tickets for their season opener vs the Edmonton Aviators. Should be a good crowd to welcome Edmonton into the professional ranks. Anyone know the status of Kevin Harmse ?
DarnCherry
Forecast is for completely sunny with temps around 22C near the water which means around 25-26C at Swangard. Most likely it will be a sellout, but nobody is quite sure what the revamped capacity will be this year. There's probably less than 1000 tickets remaining. Blue and White Army
Fecking yuppies attending games just because they're on the media radar... at least back in Korea, I had my choice of 40,000 empty seats!

DarnCherry
The Whitecaps website lists it as 6100. They lost 1000 seats by setting up the VIP section behind the north net.
Jeremy Loome
I'm told it's a sellout. By the by, I've also heard Edmonton has sold another 2,000 season tickets without even starting it's campaign yet, on top of the 24,000 season passes given out to local minor soccer kids. Anyone want odds on whether we'll challenge for the attendance lead this year?

Blue and White Army
quote:Originally posted by Jeremy Loome Anyone want odds on whether we'll challenge for the attendance lead this year? Depends on weather you count actual numbers going through the turnstiles, or total number of tickets sold/given away.
Winnipeg Fury
The Caps were saying weeks ago that they had sold hundreds of additional season-tickets. Not sure of the final tally. The Whitecaps website says that there are 800 tickets left for the Aviators match.

Also depends on if they are 0-5 before they play their first home game. Five straight games on the road may not be a good thing.
