viking
This can just be good news for soccer B.C. and soccer Canada. For the Whitecaps this is a big step forward to a full proffessional soccer team. Keep it up boys.

Moosehead
This is truely great news!!! Well done Keerfoot. Hope it doesn't indicate though that any proposed stadium will be fieldturf surface as well.

I highly doubt it. Vancouver's marketing slogan for the upcoming season is "Real grass, real passion". Not something to use if you're about to switch to a rug in the near future.... ted
They are adding field turf not replacing grass. The release says, "the initial development of two turf fields... The training centre will also incorporate SFU’s existing two grass fields into the facility." Practice turf is not neccesarily an indicater of what future plans might contain (we hope ) Ted
WildboutCdnScr
I think the fact it rains fairly often in that neck of the woods is why field-turf fields are being put in. My take is any stadium announcement will wait for final Olympic infrastructure plans.
drewsome
I fear Field Turf (as much as a purist may protest) will be the way of the future.[xx(]
