Busy day in England this Easter Monday:

Lars was on the bench as Tottenham drew Man City 1-1

Pesch had an active 90 mins as Derby beat Bradford 3-2 to keep thier hopes of staying in Div 1 alive.

Brennan came on at 90 mins in Norwich's 1-o away win over Reading. A big win that puts them 2 points clear and 11 points clear on the automatic promotion. Looks like Jimmy will have a chance to Play in the Prem next year.

Bircham played 90 in a 3-3 draw (forgot who they played [:I] ).

Wycombe lost to Tranmere 2-1 with Rogers an unused sub while Hume came on at 80 mins. Gotta think Hume has been sold given the increasingly reduced playing time. It will be interesting to see if that is the case, and to whom.

Everton, Wigan, Plymouth and Bury (one in each Division) play tomorrow.

In Sweden Atiba Hutchinson played 90 as Helsingborgs lost at home to Kalmar 1-2.

In Norway Olivier Occean played 90 and seemed active but the goals came from others as Odd Grenland beat Staebaek 2-0 in the opener.

Marco Reda played the whole match for Sogndal, only drawing at home 1-1 with HamKam.

I don't have full 2nd div reports yet, but Moss (Friend, Bernier) drew scoreless at home, while Haugesund went up by two then lost 3-2 with the first goal coming from Pozniak.

Richard Hastings did not play for Maastricht who lost 1-0 to Go Ahead Eagles in Dutch 2nd.

For Moss in Norway 1st Div Friend and Bernier played the whole match in the scoreless draw to Raufoss. Bernier had a high rating from vg.no

Milan Kojic and Chris Pozniak both played 90 in Haugesund's 3-2 loss to Aalesund, with Poz getting the first goal and a yellow card. For those interested there were over 6,000 in Aalesund's stadium for that match, and the town I think is quite small.

In the end, Radzinski goes 90 as Everton draw 1-1 away to Leeds.

Devos also plays 90 as Wigan beat Cardiff 3-0. The win puts Wigan tied for 4th. It appears that there are 5 teams fighting for 4 playoff spots. It will be nip and tuck for Wigan right up until the end.

Bent plays 76' in his return to action with Plymouth. A late goal after Bent was subbed off, however, saw Plymouth fall 1-0 to homeside Bristol City.

And finally, Dunfield plays 90 as Bury draw - away - with York 1-1.

Good performance from De Vos tonight. He managed to pretty much keep Robert Earnshaw (top scorer in the league and the fastest thing on two legs) under wraps for the entire 90mins.

Hopefully that will hit back at some of his critics who claim he's too slow and isnt justifying his place in the team.

Rapid Vienna beat Sturm Graz 1-2 away in Austrian league action Wednesday night with Ante Jazic playing 90. The team is back in third spot, Uefa deserving, with a game in hand (to be made up vs. the league basement team early May).

Canadians in Italy

April 10

[*]Serie C1: Teramo (Rocco Placentino) 3-0 L'Aquila

Placentino was subbed into the match at the 77th minute, with the score 2-0. Two minutes later he made a quick run into the opposition's box and served a nice pass across but his attacking partner Matteini (who scored two goals) blasted it wide. This match was an Abruzzo derby. Lowly L'Aquila, featuring Canadian Carlo Schiavone on one of their youth teams, are on their way to Serie C2 (where they would have been this year if not for that Serie B fiasco last summer).

April 10-12

[*]Serie D: Isola Liri (David Masciantonio)

No matches in Serie D last weekend due to an Easter break.

[*]Promozione Puglia (7th tier): Lucera (Franco Lalli)

No matches in the Promozione Puglia last weekend due to an Easter break. However, as I mentioned last week, Lalli was chosen to play for Puglia at the Torneo delle Regioni (see last week's notes for an explanation). After playing in Puglia's first round matches (see last week's notes), Lalli did not get into any of the three second round matches over the weekend (Puglia lost all of them). Lalli now heads to Turkey to join the Canadian U20 team.
