Guest Ed
Add another Canuck to the MLS as Adrian Cann was signed by the Rapids for this season. Here's part of the announcement. News to me that he has 'represented Canada at the U23 level'. "Cann is the only new signing who will not be categorized as a developmental player and will occupy one of the two full roster spots that the team had available. The Toronto, Canada native will be classified as a Transitional International, meaning that he will not count against the club's limit of three senior internationals. The four-year starter at the University of Louisville and two-time Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year has represented Canada at the Under-23 level and also holds a Slovakian passport. He was selected by the Rapids with the 16th pick of the 2004 MLS SuperDraft in January."
Gian-Luca
Perhaps as part of a Francophone Games team? I believe he was too old for the 2004 squad and probably on the younger side for the 2000 squad (when he would have been 20).

Guest Ed
You are right. He is in at least one game report for the games in Ottawa.
WildboutCdnScr
Not that I'm worried about him playing for Slovakia, but does the Francophone Games count as an official FIFA competition, and did he play, thus cap-tying him to Canada?
bungey
No, the Francophone games isn't an official FIFA event. I'm sure that Yallop will keep a closer eye on him than Slovakia, at this point in his career especially.
WildboutCdnScr
What's most impressive is Colorado was willing to use a full roster spot and a transitional international tag on Cann. We'll see next year when some of the developmental players may be required to take up a regular roster spot. It must make a GM crazy trying to figure out who fits in what catagory all while managing a salary cap. BTW, some of the Colorado fans who went to the Rapids/Denver Univ. game had some good things to say about him. http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102169
