Guest Ed
Add Patrick Kelly to that list. Played 90 minutes every game on the left wing for our U17s until he blew his knee. He will be back soon.
Ivan
CSA site says Richard Asante was born in 1985. Therefore, he would be eligible to play.
Gian-Luca
With 4 spots available for Concacaf & Canada having qualified for 3 of the last 4, and with the talent coming up through the ranks I think we have to raise the bar for ourselves & expect to qualify for this tourney every time it is held. With Yallop in as Senior team coach, presumably Mitchell will remain as U20 coach, and based on what he did this time around (in comparison to his predecessor) that puts us in a good position. I really like the way Mitchell had the team playing. I know I was criticising him for the mental preparation, and I stand by that - although to a lessor degree - but he had the team prepared and playing a decent brand of football. As Forest said, perhaps the best he's seen any Canadian team play at any level for many years.

Agreed! We have to have the attitude that there are 4 spots for CONCACAF at the World Youth Championship and one of them is reserved for Canada. Anything less is a failure. Mind you the last two qualification tournaments were in favourable weather conditions: Victoria and St. Louis. We have to give our teams the necessary Central American/Caribbean preparation so we can succeed. I would also say that we need to start qualifying for the U17 FIFA championship as this provides good experience for some of the next U20 squad. We haven't been to the U17 world championship since 1995, I think. We have to do better.
Gian-Luca
It was actually Charleston rather than St.Louis, but a good point nonetheless.
