JayWay
Ok. I've only watched 10 minutes. But I mean, c'mon.. WORST SHOW EVER When these guys aren't stealing their opinions from the other media sources ("I heard someone on the radio say..", "I heard one opinion on TV...") they are speaking in the most vague terms possible. Juve's defense is poor? Uhh, thanks. You're on TV. You're going to have to be a bit more specific than that.
amacpher
quote:Originally posted by Massive Attack I agree with you 100%. I'm convinced TLN runs this show to fill its Canadian content. These guys know absolutely nothing about Italian soccer and the Serie A. LOL ... yeah a frustrating part about living on this side of the Atlantic is that even when you are able to hear or watch a soccer-talk show, nobody knows squat outside of the EPL or SPL. They can probably tell you how many pairs of underpants Alex Ferguson has, but ask them to name 5 players in serie A and it throws them for a loop. EUROPE_MAN51
i know what u guys mean, i watched an Italian match and i was sick to my stomac there was goal after goal, ect it was very dissapointing. but on the other hand the team was very skilled that one lol

Franky
believe me.....my stomach was doing flips over this show. What do you expect from Milan fans[}] hopeless commentating. their opinions are sooooooo biased, that it is a plain turnoff. Klick!!!!! (remote ctrl) switches over to FOX Sportsworld. Bring Alf DeBlasis into the picture, if you want concise Serie A coverage.
DJT
quote:Originally posted by Massive Attack I'm convinced TLN runs this show to fill its Canadian content. I don't think that's the reason (I could be wrong, but I don't think they have the same requirements as other channels because they are an "ethnic" channel). I think it has to do with the problems between TLN and RAI International. It appears that TLN has been forced to look for alternate programming because they no longer have as much access to programming from RAI International as they used to (recall the contract problems from a few months ago). As I'm sure regular viewers know, in addition to this show they eat up more time by repeating each of the four weekend games, and they also show English-language films (eg. "Macho Mondays") and television programs. They never did any of this prior to the recent problems. quote:Originally posted by amacpher LOL ... yeah a frustrating part about living on this side of the Atlantic is that even when you are able to hear or watch a soccer-talk show, nobody knows squat outside of the EPL or SPL. Well, the guys on this show are actually fans of Italian soccer, so I don't think they fall under the category of talk show hosts you're thinking of (I doubt these guys are EPL fans). The problem with them is that they are just average fans who don't know as much as they think they do, and certainly not enough to have a television show! quote:Originally posted by Franky their opinions are sooooooo biased, that it is a plain turnoff. I think the show is supposed to be more about them arguing like you might find in a cafe on St. Clair than concise Serie A coverage, which I think makes it a bad experiment and saves it from being a bad joke. I don't like those three guys, either, but muting the volume gives me the opportunity to watch 60 minutes of extended Serie A highlights of every match rather than watching FSW Report's 30+ minutes of the EPL. Not that I watch it often, but I like the option. quote:Originally posted by amacpher EUROPE_MAN51 i know what u guys mean, i watched an Italian match and i was sick to my stomac there was goal after goal, ect it was very dissapointing. but on the other hand the team was very skilled that one lol At first I thought you were being sarcastic (directed towards the stereotype of Italian soccer being defensive)...quote:the end was like 8-0...but then I thought you might be referring to Inter beating Reggina 6-0 a few weeks back. nedved9
[8D] I have to agree with you guys. I do not like the Soccer Fanatics show either. The concept I like. The guys they are a bunch of annoying ****ers. I am lucky to understand Italian, so I prefer to watch Domenica Sportiva or 90 minuto. At least on Domenica, you have the expert commentating, without the annoying sarcasm. and at the same time there is a bunch of hot looking ladies to look at[] At the same time at least TLN is trying to expand there Market. Gian-Luca
I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this show. Its hilarious. I'm not sure if its supposed to be, but it is. In some ways though, it has to be considered a bit of a waste - imagine a show where knowledgeable fans debate soccer (including Canadian soccer) instead. That how I felt when I caught this show a couple of times while channell surfing. Its is comparable to a couple of guys sitting in a café. But the difference is that the guys in a cafe don't have to fill a whole 30 minutes with mindless chatter, as result something interesting is bound to come out of the mouths of the guys in the cafe after a few minutes of pause. These guys have to fill the whole show with talk.
