Guest Ed
We are the "maple leafs" in Germany. "Ahorn" == maple. "Blaetter" = leafs.

Cheeta
quote:Originally posted by SeanKeay yo cheeta have you found some good drugs latly? cause ur posts have been wack latly Wacky,, like a fox!!! But getting back to prefabricated, phony, nicknames. Running a little with SABuffalo786's brilliant "Yacks" suggestion, how-about? Yacksmen! As in; Yacksmen, Royal Canadian Kilted. Yallop's Royal Canadian Kilted Yacksmen!!! Think of the shirts! THINK OF THE COOL SHIRTS!!! It's got a built in supporters song! What's more Canadian that having a funny at our own expense? It works on every level! It's brilliant I tell you, brilliant! P.S. Yes, yes, yes. I KNOW I took the bait, again. It's not my fault. I got some inside info recently on an African wine sale at the LC and just couldn't say no. Who knew you could make wine from hemp?
Guest Ed
quote:Originally posted by JayWay Die „Ahornblätter“ Let me guess.. Canuck fans? It's spelled out in the post. It does not mean 'Canuck fans' and is not a disparaging comment on Sepp, it means literally 'Maple Leafs', referring to our U20 team. The article is from the 1860 website and talks about even though the Germans have returned home there is still one 'Lion' there namely, Canadian Nik Ledgerwood, the U19 midfielder. matthew
If we go to Germany I'm making a shirt that says 'Die Ahornblätter!" Preferably with some sort of really bad ass menacing looking leaf on it. I love German, everything sounds nasty. cheers, matthew

And perhaps burn into its chest: Canada: Love it or Leaf it. Of course, the big canoe on its head might not work.
