amacpher
Does anybody know who (ie. what pubs/restaurants) in Ottawa will definitely be showing the Scotland v Holland game on Saturday morning?
Metro
It looks like setanta is carrying the game, so go to this website, click Scotland-Holland and punch in your postal code: http://linux967.dn.net/setanta/jsp/NA_venues.jsp
Mimglow
I called the Fergus Inn and they will be showing the Wales match. They told me to call the James Street Feed Company but they said they would not be picking it up. Looks like the Scots in Ottawa are out of luck. I tried the Duke of Somerset as well and they also told me to call James Street. Perhaps if more people call James Street Feed Company? 563-4700

Weren't you supposed to be in Argentina this week? I recall you said you'd be there for the River vs. Boca (last weekend) and Racing vs. Independiente (next weekend) derbies. (I'm not trying to stalk you, I'm just curious if you'll be going down there at all. ) Back on topic. For places in Toronto to watch Scotland vs. Netherlands see the relevant thread on the other forum.

Yeah, I was supposed to go there a couple weeks ago (remember the Argentine schedule is a week behind schedule now), but right when I was trying to make the final decision to go was when their season was being suspended. Not to mention the second week after the season resumed, there was another 2 incidents of violence in stadiums and I was afraid the season was gonna get suspended again. So I postponed the trip 'til things are more stable down there.... just went to the Netherlands instead. At least I got to see my first live Champions League game ever so it wasn't a total loss in the end.... quote:Originally posted by Mimglow I called the Fergus Inn and they will be showing the Wales match. They show Wales against some crappy Russian team instead of Holland-Scotland. Why? I know there's often several Russians who used to go to the Duke (and probably now the Fergus Inn as well) to watch games. But it's not like they drink anything when they're at the pub. They just sit there like a bunch of cheapskates. So the bar will get ZIPPO for showing that game, since Setanta gets all of the cover charge money too! ... And also Setanta is showing BOTH games (plus at least 2 of the others) so it makes no sense! I miss New York already! ... $20 to watch Russia-Wales. Yeah right! Lemme call that James Street Feed Company...

The Duke is still undecided while the Fergus Inn is definitely not showing this game.
Mimglow
A-Mac, did you end up going to the Feed Company? How many people turned up? Atmosphere?

Yeah I went there. They showed the game downstairs. You didn't go? Was someone else in Ottawa showing the game??? ... The Feed Co. was fairly full - about 60 people I would say for the Holland game. The place was fairly quiet though. The fact that alcohol can't be served until 11:00 probably had something to do with that (I'm still trying to figure out the purpose of that law). Wednesday's afternoon game should have a better atmosphere I would guess (assuming they show that game too)!
