hey, i play Total Club Manager. as a result, i visit the chat board for the game. well, one of the sections is about real football. folks have taken to starting threads about leagues they care about. scotland, poland, etc. i started one about just the canadian clubs/players in the a-league. at any rate, here's the link http://www.totalclubmanager.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12998. i'd appreciate if you guys could tell me what i am missing from this.

obviously need to add player lineups, team kits, and team photos. unfortunately i need to find a different place to host pics i've found of these items as they are too large for Blame The Pixel.

but, i was wondering if anyone knows where i can get a full list of honours these clubs have won.

how many division titles, conference, league, and regular season titles have these clubs won - going back to the NASL and CSL days. including Edmonton - who i need to add to the page as well. thanks.

You may want to say the players on the Charleston Blast, are actually on the Charleston Battery. As well, the brits would recognize Terry Phelan, former Irish international who plays for Charleston and the Charleston manager Chris Ramsey. As well, they may get a kick out of the knowledge that Jurgen Klinsmann suited up for a PDL team in California under an assumed name (I think you can find that info).

A few more bits of information. Nialls a Canadian, not a foreigner, having in fact having been raised in Delta BC (moved here at the age of 2, hardly a foreigner) and spent time with PSV Eindhoven, Belgium, Hong Kong, and you also forget that Dasovic and Carlo Corrazin played abroad as well.

Some other things of note (some may or may not be important). Vancouvers record crowds at Swangard were in the days of the 86ers in the CSL not todays Whitecaps (8000 were known to cram in before permanent bleachers were put in the east side).

Centennial stadium in Toronto seats 3500 not 8000. Claude Robillard in Montreal has acapacity of around 8000 not 5000. Swangards capacity is actually 7100 not 7500(their site list 6500 but just because they refuse to sell seats in one endzone does not reduce the actual capacity of the stadium).

Saying that Calgary ressurected itself in 2001 is kind of misleading as it indicates that there was a Calgary Storm club previously that died/folded and needed to be reborn.

Of course nobody presently knows how many teams play in the A-League, what with all the teams dropping/ and others possibly joining.

oh ya, this thread is about the canadian clubs, not the american ones. yea, i MAY add the yanks one day, but nothing as in depth as the canadian ones. why? cuz the only yank team i care about are the sounders.

if you guys think of anything else, i'd appreciate it. the brits are starting to take notice of the information. they'll be more interested when there are games to discuss!

krammerhead: player lists are nowhere NEAR done!

andrew: thanks for the charleston snafu!

yes, i know niall is hardly a foreigner, but then again, the whore is hardly one either!

Sorry, I was just trying to help.

As for Niall, he's got one less year of being a foreigner than I. I don't consider myself a foreigner, I'm sure he doesn't.

Barbados international Ryan Lucas played for the Boston Bulldogs back in 2001. The year they won the D3 title. Also the a-leauge is the 2nd division. The USSF and FIFA recognize it as such. In 1993 the a-league was granted 2nd division status. In 1995 MLS was granted 1st division status. On the USSF website where it talks about the pyramid of professional soccer it lists MLS as the first division and the a-league as the second division. While the CSA may recognize it as Canada's first division that doesn't make it one. FIFA does not allow 1st division professional leagues to cross international boarders.

bettermirror,

I can't begin to give you player lineups at the present time. It will all depend on who the coach will be, how much we'll have to spend on talent and who will be lost to Edmonton.

Some things I can help you with include:

Current National Team members: As well as Zuniga, C.J Pesznecker is a Nat with the U-20's.

Since you still have them on our roster, the three Jamaicans all were on Jamaican National teams. Richard Henry was with the Jamaican Senior Nats, while Jermaine Richards and Ajai Authers had spent time with the U-23's.

Past National Team Members: A long list that includes Lars Hirschfeld (Senior Nats), Chris Lemire (U-20), Nik Ledgerwood (U-20's), Waldemar Dutra (U-20's).

How about a little mention of being the 2001 PDL Western Conference Champions and National Championship Finalists (we've had so little to cheer about since - give us this).

Don't tell FIFA about the National Soccer League in Australia with the Soccer Kingz club in New Zealand. :D

wow guys, thanks for all the info.

note: the whitecaps web page lists dave morris having played for the sounders for one season. i'll double check.

The Whitecaps website has a few errors on it and that is one of them. It been on there for a while and why they don't fix it is beyond me.

They do grant exceptions in rare cases. Case and point Monaco is allowed to play in the French 1st division. If a Canadian city wished to pursue an MLS team they'd first have to get FIFA approval.

I was only listing players on the current roster. that said, the Calgary page lists nik on the squad, but Canada soccer lists him in europe. so i excluded him. is he still on the squad? (i assume that these clubs will resign their entire roster - but will make changes prior to match day 1)

If by "the Calgary page" you are referring to the official Calgary Storm Web site then note that it hasn't been updated since the league took over the team in early July.

You haven't told them about our plan to use Canadian A-league clubs as a mechanism to take over the international economy and spread Canadian socialism, have you?

You better leave that part out.

I knew it. I had a feeling soccer was just a tool for Canadian terrorists :D Soon the winner of every country's domestic championship will be paid with "funny colored money" and be given a "Canadian tuxedo" designed by Levi Straus ;)
