amacpher
Gotta love this game... Hmmm... but am I the only soccer-fan on this planet who prefers weeks that are full with regular domestic league action and Champions League over what we have going on this current week? Unless you’re British or Italian and like watching 6-nil games, I don't see the intrigue in this weekend’s huge slate of 5 games (on TV)! And its not just the quantity of games but also the quality. Turkey-England okay – great game. But Hungary-Poland makes me wish I had scheduled an appointment with my oral surgeon on Saturday morning. And Scotland-Lithuania is a couple notches below a tooth-cleaning on the excitement-scale (unless you're not Scottish). Compare to next week when we have Arsenal-Chelsea, the Birmingham derby, Man Utd-Rangers, Chelsea-Lazio, Roma-Parma, Dynamo Kiev-Arsenal, Barca-Deportivo, Celta-Real Madrid, Bremen-Stuttgart, on and on. Someone please tell me I'm not the only person not eagerly awaiting that Italy - Azerbajan game!
Cheeta
Going to make a wild guess here but I'll bet Scottish fans are going to be just as interested in the Germany-Iceland match as the Lithuania encounter. Bloody Islanders have been too upity lately. Happy to let the Germans put them in their proper place. That is to say, 3rd. Think Saturday's encounter will be a pretty entertaining affair. Lithuania isn't that bad, wonderful atmosphere and a rare chance at some Scottish success internationaly. Here come the playoffs. By the by. Seen Owen won't be available for England. No Ferdinand, no Owen, and a little clubhouse trouble for the Bulldog Brits. Thinking Turkey's liking their chances more every day.
