attending matches in Canada

We lack the soccer culture that many European and South American nations boast. But a Canadian soccer fan's passion for free goods (the more useless the better) can not be questioned. You toss a sample-size box of crispers into the crowd, free of charge, and you will hear a roar that puts the Stadio Olympico to shame.

A WUSA franchise may be on the way if the league survives.

Which would prove that a club team would draw as few people as the A-League teams do because the games would not be "big name" events, and whatever team it would be would not be as dominant as the Canadian women are over most opponents. Many people like to go to an "event" and many people like to go to support a winner, but put an average team in the same city for 10 home games, and you won't see crowds of 12-29000 on a regular basis.
