yess there was some changes that included adding Poland to the countries above and some age group changes

Thanks for the info, do you have some links that will confirm your info? I always say if we put everybody in the list that was supposed to be somewhere, the list would be 4x as long. :)

I thought I found something on Dav(w)id Kwiek at Wisla Krakow but now I can't find it. I found an old CM listing of Radek Pindiur at Legia Warszawa.

To avoid confusion, if you have some info please post the links before I post the list again. The list you copied and pasted had several omissions and is not up to date.

In that case, I've deleted soccer_fan's list.

Here are the two additions he made, awaiting confirmation:

Poland

Dawid Kwiek - Wisla Krakow (Polish 1st League) (1)Youth

Radek Pindiur - Wisla Krakow (Polish 1st League) (1)Youth

Halifax boss Chris Wilder has allowed 10 players to leave after his side missed out on a place in the play-offs.

Alex Meechan, Christian Lee, Neil Ross, Ryan Mallon, Dean Howell and Gordon Chin have not been offered new deals.

This was taken from the BBC website.

I'm starting to check over the players in the US (prompted by the post about Zagar - tks) and found Mesanovic and Larkin are now in MISL.

How I maintain this sucker is to just shift names around. Either they are in the MOACA (Mother of all Canadians Abroad), Canadians on Trial/Draft Picks, Unconfirmed Location, or Former Players Abroad (not posted - until today). The latter is just to keep players on the radar screen and does not extend back too far. Hence no Dasovic or Xausa etc.

The MOACA also only lists players playing outdoors and not MISL so that is why they are posted here. They went from playing outside Canada either back to Canada or indoors. Confusin' ain't it.

I also keep a list of every player mentioned in this thread and look for confirmation. Some are pretty obscure, we gotta do somethin bout those English beer leagues. :)

Former Players Abroad

Semir Mesanovic - Minnesota Thunder (USL First Division) (2) - Milwaukee Wave (MISL)

Jim Larkin - Milwaukee Wave United (USL First Division) (2) - Cleveland Force (MISL)

Theo Zagar - Rochester Raging Rhinos (USL First Division) (2) - Toronto Lynx (USL First Division) (2)

Niels Dekker - Barendrecht (Dutch Hoofdklasse) (3) - Toronto Lynx (USL First Division) (2)

Tom Lindley - Sheffield United (English The Championship) (2) Reserves - Halifax Celtic (NS Soccer League)

Carlo Schiavoni - L'Aquila Calcio Juniores/Berretti (Italian Serie C1 gir.B) (3) Youth - University of Alabama Birmingham Blazers (Conference USA)

Adrian Cann - Motherwell (Scottish Premier League) (1) - Montreal Impact (USL First Division) (2)

Dave Simpson - Debrecen (Hungarian Arany Aszok Liga) (1) - Toronto Lynx (USL First Division) (2)

Sita-Taty Matondo - Åtvidaberg (Swedish Superettan) (2) - Montreal Impact (USL First Division) (2)

Wojtek Zarzycki - Sydney Crescent Star (Australia NSW Premier League) (2) - NTC Ontario?

Srdjan Djekanovic - Zeleznicar Bara Venecija (Serbia 3rd Div) - Vancouver Whitecaps (USL First Division) (2)

Kerr McLeod - Vitesse A1 (Holland Casino Ere Divisie) (1) - Syracuse University Orangemen?

Waldemar Dutra - FC Schweinfurt 05 (Oberliga Bayern) (4) - Edmonton AMSL?

Mark Watson - Charleston Battery (USL First Division) (2) - Vancouver Whitecaps (USL First Division) (2)

Nils Binstock, AB Copenhagen (Danish Superliga) (1) Youth - Toronto Lynx Junior U17

Robbie Aristodemo - Seattle Sounders (USL First Division) (2) - Cleveland Force (MISL)

Marco Casalinuovo - Alessandria Primavera (Youth) - Vaughan Shooters CPSL

John Murphy - Bury (English League Two) (4) Youth - Lipscomb University Bisons (Atlantic Sun Conference)

Sasha Boskovic - MTK (Hungarian Arany Aszok Liga) (1) - University of Detroit Mercy Titans (Horizon League)

Andrea Bellisomo - Inter Milan (Italian Serie A) (1) Youth - Simon Fraser University Clan (NAIA)

Vince Stewart - Glentoran (Irish League) (1) - Simon Fraser University Clan (NAIA)

Gianluca Saggese - Salernitana (Italian Serie B) (2) Squadra Allievi Nazionali - York University Lions (OUA/CIS)

Emilio Bottiglieri - Greenock Morton (Scottish 2nd Division) (3) - Sapperton Rovers (Vancouver Metro Soccer League)

Troy Gardezy - Gronigen (Holland Casino Ere Divisie) (1) Youth - Lower Island U18 Selects (BC Select Soccer League)

Olivier Babineau - Boston Bulldogs (Premier Development League) (4) - Moncton First Touch

I still need help with tracking players down especially those with websites or countries with foreign languages ie Hungarian.

It would be a great help if everybody could take one guy (or more) from the three ancillary lists and see if the info is still accurate. If it's not, let me know. I would greatly appreciate the help.

Please, please, please posts the link where you found your info. It saves me a lot of time confirming player whereabouts.

Thanks again

If ex - Calgary Mustang C.J. Peznecker's first name is Charles, then he is playing for Minnesota Thunder. According to USL scoreboard, he played 26 minutes of last night's 2-2 tie with Portland.

Yup, that's him, he made the team.

Terry Dunfield has been released by Bury, along with three others. Poor year mostly injured he's had; says he has been invited back for pre-season training, meaning if he is in form and can win back a spot they'll offer another contract:

From bbc.co.uk

Barrow offers deals to 12 players

Barrow has offered new deals to 12 Bury players

Bury manager Graham Barrow has offered new contracts to 12 players and released four others.

He has also offered deals to Bolton midfielder Ricky Shakes and Blackburn defender John Fitzgerald, following successful loan spells at Gigg Lane.

But Shakes, 20, is also weighing up an offer from Swindon as he prepares to leave the Reebok Stadium this summer.

The quartet leaving the Shakers are Matt Barrass, Jon Cartledge, Terry Dunfield and Colin Woodthorpe.

However, Woodthorpe may return in a different role, while Dunfield has been invited back for pre-season training.

New deals have been offered to Glyn Garner, Lee Unsworth, Dave Challinor, Dave Flitcroft, Dwayne Mattis and Brian Barry-Murphy.

Chris Porter, Simon Whaley, Paul Scott, Colin Kazim-Richards, David Buchanan and James Barrow have also been told they figure in Barrow's plans.

Yes, that's good news, and we are glad to hear it.

Not trying to be dismissive, but can we post this type of information in the general Canucks Abroad thread

both so that we don't over-multiply threads, and so it can be more easily searched in the future? The distinction with this item is that it is not a new source of extended discussion.

I will move this thread into the Canucks Abroad thread.

Thanks.

from a poster on bigsoccer (think it's Ed in a different skirt), regarding Imhof's being named a Bochum club (German 2nd Div) player out of the blue on the CSA final GC roster:

The transfer is not a done deal according to the St. Gallen Tagblatt (Swiss daily). The club has received an offer and will make a decision in the next 48 hours. The new manager of VfL Bochum is Marcel Koller (replaced Peter Neururer at the end of the season) and he had Imhof at St. Gallen when they had their good run a few years ago. Good news for Imhof though as VfL Bochum are a traditional Bundesliga club. For a BC boy, the scenery might be a bit depressing in the Ruhr valley though."

I am locking this thread, which should be able to be obtained using the search function for any archive purposes.

Further rumours, reports, confirmations, additions, changes, deletions or discussion should be posted on the new "Mother of All canadians Abroad, 2005" thread, on which Joe MacCarthy will maintain the current lists.

Remember that Joe needs confrimation, not just rumour, to change the list, as we want to maintain it with some credibility.

Cheers to Gian-Luca for its inception!
