Bedford's owner McCormack did say football is a business where he can make all the right business decisions but it doesn't mean the team will win matches. He did make right decision in hiring his second manager. He asks what the manager needs for every season and then gives him the budget for the year. He meets with the manager daily but he doesn't meddle with matters on the pitch. The difference here is the funding structure. Nearly all non-league clubs don't have a treasury to lean on. If his bitcoin outlook comes to fruition, he won't need to go into debt, seek more funding or dilute his stake. Today, he already has money to meet the higher required infrastructure standards for promotions over the next 3 levels.

I was at the match as well and it was almost surreal to see so many supporters.  Obviously much more of a family vibe minor league baseball crowd.  But every L1O team would kill to have that kind of fan base no matter what.

I've been a season seat holder since day one but there is definitely a "Real housewives of Barrie" vibe in the crowd tonight.

For sure.  100%.  The calendar will never favour the lower league sides in this tournament.   But is it that long since the winter season ended?  Because I'm assuming all of those players were kitted up through the winter. But still, the marking is school yard stuff and Toronto is doing them in slow motion.   Here's hoping nobody hurts anything more than their pride tonight.

Seeing how their home field can only hold 1,000, only need half of them to show up to sell out.

I wonder how many of these 2000 Simcoe County supporters will be at their L1O home opener on May 4..
