The average lux output from the floodlights still isn't where you would expect it to be for a fully pro level game. Thought Langley Township were supposed to be upgrading that along with adding some sort of scoreboard?
Not to mention either of those guys sees a massive pay increase to take the job. I prefer the motivation to be different. Not a gift. Take a guy already making 400,000 and give him 550,000 for each of two years, plus bonuses.
If Panama had not qualified for Copa, Christensen would be the guy.
Not very good from HFX tonight. Didn't look good until Ferrin and Coimbra were brought on. VFC have looked good so far but we might not know how good they really are until they play a good team.
NGL, attendances for VFC do worry a bit. Especially since they now appear to be good...
Its admitedly early in the season so by all means, lets them give them some time to build momentum in their community but we can't have another York United, even if they aren't quite as bad as them when it come to the numbers.
So I have a probably unpopular hot take here, but please bear with me:
I have yet to hear or read any case made for Smyrniotis or Wheldon that isn't made by OneSoccer, one of the media more or less gravitating around OneSoccer, a podcast given by someone who also do videos and/or write articles for OneSoccer or by someone that I either know for a fact (or at least the circumstances strongly lead me to believe) is a CPL-first fan when it come to club game in Canada.
Overall the take outside of those groups is the same respectful skepticism we have seen in this thread: they have the potential but we want them to get experience at a higher level first.
If you are someone who doesn't fit that definition and would like Bobby or Wheldon or if you have come across some kind of media piece making the case for them that don't fit what I have outlined above please feel to correct me.
So perhaps, maybe, just mayyyybbbeee the awessome love for the league these fans and media have created a bias that blinded them to the fact that hiring Bobby or Wheldon might not be the best choice for Canadian Soccer as a whole or even the CPL specifically. Because the vibe would only be good if we do well. If not I guarantee they will turn sour real quick and that a lot of fingers will be directed at the guy who they would dub the ''CPL coach''.
