Just signed a 3 year extension with Columbus yesterday. He would be the ideal choice, but he won’t be available for some time and I would assume he ends up in Europe before long.
I suspect this is less the case for the CPL. Which is part of what makes games for the CPL (and other, less popular leagues) so much fun - everyone in the crowd is there because they want to be and are engaged, not because their company or supplier comped them a ticket.
Will leave people to draw their own conclusions about how close the actual crowd was to the announced 41% of capacity based on what was visible on showpass pregame and in the highlights. It should be blindingly obvious. One thing I noted about this VFC game is that it is the first time I have seen most of the side opposite the cameras on general sale on showpass, while the cheaper end sections of the camera side seemed to have more green dots than usual relative to what appeared in year one to be where the bulk of the season tickets sales were. Not sure what that means in big picture terms but they definitely appear to be making some changes on who goes where. Looks like there is now one section on the camera side reserved for group sales.
The average lux output from the floodlights still isn't where you would expect it to be for a fully pro level game. Thought Langley Township were supposed to be upgrading that along with adding some sort of scoreboard?
Not to mention either of those guys sees a massive pay increase to take the job. I prefer the motivation to be different. Not a gift. Take a guy already making 400,000 and give him 550,000 for each of two years, plus bonuses.
If Panama had not qualified for Copa, Christensen would be the guy.
